VISUAL ARTIST / MUSICIAN /
SONGWRITER / PRODUCER

Trained as a Graphic Artist / Illustrator, if you would ask Raymon Fong a few years ago if he'd be writing and producing music albums, there would've been a confused look on his face and a "Nope!" out of his mouth. A few years can make all the difference and over time so did his love for music and writing.

Born in Montreal, Canada 1976 where he lived all his life, Raymon always had a love for the arts. He would doodle in elementary school all the way through secondary high where his notebooks would be covered in ink drawings. A decision was made after secondary high and with his passion to draw he enrolled in an Illustration & Design program at Dawson College in the autumn of 1993.

During his four year run at Dawson College, surrounded by classmates listening to Pop Punk he bought his first guitar. Learning playing techniques while listening to Top 40 hits, Raymon was getting bored and expected more from himself and the music he was accustomed to. Putting mainstream aside he started listening to classic rock albums and artists such as Floyd's The Wall, Jimi Hendrix and Dire Straits to name a few. A newfound love with music emerged from within. It was a realization that music was not about how fast your fingers can run up the guitar or whining about how your one night girlfriend left you. But the feelings involved as you played and wrote music. With this in mind Raymon started practicing his guitar playing and theory. He also started to write about situations in his life that meant something, experiences and stories. Putting both skills together he felt compelled to write music and in late 2003-2004 he completed an eight-song music album called "Between Mind & Machine".

"When I listen to the classics they had something to say… Whether it was psychological, social or personal. Times were different then but the music is timeless." -Raymon Fong

With an album under his belt, Raymon continues to write. Music is an escape into something he enjoys. With many failed friendships and close friends in pursuit of better lives outside the country, Raymon finds himself surviving many hardships by himself. It is his drive, focus, and determination to becoming an accomplished artist that keeps him going.

"I'd like to leave a mark, we're not on this planet for very long so why settle when you know in your heart and mind you can do so much more. Sure there will be many obstacles along the way but you only live once." -Raymon Fong
